Firestone possesses a great deal of experience in a variety of styles from Mexican haciendas, to Italian renaissance and lavish palaces. "The architecture of a home should express the client's interaction with society, as well as the connection he or she has with it," says Firestone. "Whether it's reflected through bold shapes and patters, graceful styling, delicate details or combinations of styles, it's the duty of the architect to capture the essence of one's personal relationship with the world." Firestone's work utilizes massing proportions and detail to promote comfortable, easy living, whose designs are typically reflective of architecture specific to a certain period in time."

Q & A as appeared in LUXE magazine:

What are the key influences in your work today?
Returning to a site 30 years after or so after having completed a home and seeing my work still standing there, with an undeniable, unmistakable presence. The exhilaration and pride influence me to strive for nothing short of perfection.

Who has most influenced your work?
My clients. I have gotten to interact with many different types of people, all of whom I have learned something from. No opportunity presents itself without a lesson to take from it.

What are the main determinants in your design process?
Accommodating each client's budget, design objective and view of the world.

Which awards mean the most to you?
Having the privilege of serving clients for over 50 years now means more to me than receiving an award. The reputation I have earned speaks more to my character and talent than I feel an award ever could.
